Childhood

My childhood can be described in three words: privilege, pressure, love.

Privilege may be an odd choice of words, but I use it simply to explain how aware I am of the incredible childhood I was given. I was privileged to be raised by two loving parents who encouraged, taught, and pushed me to be better every day. I was privileged to have a high-quality education. I was privileged to have both a nuclear and extended family that maintained quality relationships with one another. I was privileged to be born in a skin and body that afforded me the ability to choose my own path and generate success.

Pressure is an interesting one. While it’s true that my parents often pressured me to learn, try, or become different things the truth is that the vast majority of the pressure I felt growing up came from within. I have always had a strong internal drive which I believe is responsible

Love is the key to all success and can manifest itself in many forms. Some people feel love for their families and that drives them to be the person they are. Some people feel love for their country and demonstrate that love through dedication and sacrifice. One may feel love for the entirety of the human race, the health of the planet, an art form, or something as simple as
